The FIFA World Cup is an international football tournament held every four years for Women's and Women's Sports. The popularity of rugby around the world has made the FIFA World Cup the largest sport in the world, but at the lowest level in the Northern United States. However, since America hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup there has been an increase in football fans in North America.

The US Men’s Soccer (soccer) team has played in any FIFA World Cup since 1990 and after being a host country in 1994 it has gotten better and better. The U.S. Women’s Soccer team has played in the FIFA Women’s Games and is one of the most successful teams in the tournament.

The Canadian men's football team has only played once at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. The Canada Women’s football team has played in all FIFA Women’s World Cup matches since 1995 and played as host country in 2015.

The first FIFA World Cup (Men's) was held in 1930 in Uruguay between 13 teams and Uruguay won the World Cup.
The first FIFA Women's World Cup was held in 1991 in China between 12 teams and the United States who won the World Cup.

The number of teams taking part in the FIFA World Cup has skyrocketed. For the circle of the Lord; in 1934 Italy hosted, the number of teams went up to 16, in 1982 Spain was hosted, the number of teams went up to 24, and in 1998 in France hosted, the number of teams went up to 32. For the Women's competition; in 1999 hosted by America, the number of teams increased to 16, and the 2015 tournament in Canada had 24 teams for the first time.

Brazil was the most successful team to win the World Cup (Men’s) which won 5 titles and Germany and Italy won 4 titles. In addition, Argentina and Uruguay have won the tournament twice, while France, England, and Spain have won once.
The most successful team has won the American Women's World Cup which has won the tournament three times and is currently the Women's World Cup 2015. Germany has won the World Cup twice and Norway and Japan have win once.
